Vicenza Art College

The Vicenza Arts and Craft School was designed to generate 4200 sq metres of multi-purpose space and offer a path to education in traditional Vicenzan techniques of jewellery design and production as well as contemporary courses in graphic and technology based design. The complex was also designed to accommodate a portion of the Vicenzaoro Expo during out of term times, as well as other major events and gatherings. The site is situated within a five minute walk of the city centre.

Wall Presentation

The presentation below showcases the final review, this was accompanied by a series of models and documents.

Site Strategy

The site strategy report was the first accompanying document. It was developed over the course of first semester resulting in a self generated brief and master strategy.

Praxis Document

The praxis was the second document to accompany the wall presentation. It collated and documented key design moves throughout second semester. It was also book ended by assignments in the form of the critical reflection and design statement.

Models

The models accompanying the presentation ranged from 1:500 - 1:20 scale, each tackling particular aspects of development.

Group Site Study (Exhibition Boards)

The following boards were featured in an early exhibition in first semester tackling the wider issues of Vicenza and developing an early master strategy connecting all six sites.
